It has to do with the way the MSM handles it through their Mai Lai lenses.

I understand that point. But just because the MSM has a Mi Lai lens doesn't mean that they are publishing this particular story in some knee jerk way solely out of bias.

I don't know very much about this incident yet but what struck me as different is the escalation. It's one thing when troops go bonkers and start shooting Arabs indiscriminately under stress because they are indistinguishable from the enemy. It's horrid, but it's something I can understand happening under stress. If you kill in response to being killed, you're responding in kind. That is understandable even if not acceptable. Rape is not in kind. Rape is a special kind of sicko in that scenario. (Per the Law and Order:Special Victims Unit opening line, "sex crimes are considered especially heinous...") I call that escalation and escalation is news.

None of this should be interpreted as my opining that either Haditha or this rape-killing actually happened per the accusations.
