Nixon tried to charge Daniel Ellsberg with "treason" for leaking the Pentagon Papers. The American People should be glad Ellsberg did what he did. It exposed the fact that both LBJ and Nixcon deliberately lied to us about why we were at war, why the war began, why it was escalated, how badly it was going and how unwinnable it was. Ellsberg (a rightwing think tanker) did a courageous thing only after witnessing the lies in Vietnam personally as a intelligence analyst checking body counts, and noticing the counts were fabricated numbers to make it look like we were "winning".
