If I remember correctly it was the military that first reported the abuses at Abu Ghraib. I'm not sure of the time line, but I also thought it was under investigation immediately. Getting the facts straight matters. What a ridiculous statement. Prove it! Many, not all, people on the right don't want to hear anything bad about the military so if a bad apple does something wrong, they want it to just be ignored and go away, and they support the coverup. And that only makes it worse in the long run.
