Of course, the acts shouldn't have been committed. That's in the category of argument that no bad thing should ever happen.

I never heard of FAy Jones and didn't find anything on her, whoever she is. Ghost detainees is one of the abuses the Taguba report, all I know about that.

Ran across something strange on renditions, supposedly when Clinton reviewed a meeting on his administration's policy on rendition of terrorists (see PDD 39) to Gore, Gore replied, "That's a no-brainer. Of course it's a violation of international law, that's why it's a covert action. The guy is a terrorist. Go grab his ass."

Was Gore right and are covert actions necessary to fight terror? I think maybe so. But people disagree. Kind of interesting to see this is not something that originated with the the Bush administration.
