I thought learning that the Clinton administration practiced renditions, secret detaining, etc. was kind of interesting. That's not how things are being framed nowadays. I expect the Clinton adminstration was not the first.

I asked whether Gore might have had a point or not. Should we foreswear covert ops against terror, do you think? Covert ops are covert because they're illegal, just as Gore said.

When we hit a carload of al Qaeda guys with a missile in Yemen some years ago, was that an illegal war crime which justifies the beheading of people? I recall you as one who remarked approvingly of it at the time but that was then, I guess.
