I guess it could happen....on the other side of the looking glass. The idea that Valery Plame was truly covert does deserve parody. One obvious point, I forgot to mention, was that her marriage to Wilson was public knowledge, so that if Wilson himself had wished to protect her status he would have thought twice before blabbing his trip to Niger all over the NYT op-ed pages, as he was such an unlikely candidate to be picked on his own merits that the deal obviously smacked of some brand of favoritism. It would not have been hard for any interested party to figure out what.
