It is a serious conceptual contradiction to either address things 'outside' the universe or to dismiss things outside the universe. Where is this 'outside'?

"That is outside the universe and therefore not relevant...
If something outside the universe were in a cause-effect relationship with the stuff inside the universe it would show up as gross distortions of the cause-effect relationships within the universe."

If you are going to describe the universe as a closed system, linear arguments will fail.

"... every step from singularity to gumball, although that would be nice. In time that may be available.

The call of the faithful, "The proof shall be forth coming in time."

If you are now suggesting that there could be steps to the gumball, your earlier claim of proof that the gumball was the beginning has poofed. If you are gravitating toward the concept of singularity, there may be still be some wiggle room. I doubt you realize the implications but I could be wrong about that.
