Finally saw "Inconvenient Truth" yesterday even though it's been playing in my area for three weeks already.

Excellent graphics, very clear explanation of the science. A fair amount of self-promotion, but it mainly serves to connect Gore to the issue as a primary, deep, hands on, long-term, knowledgeable voice for change. No dilletante here. I can well see why Gore would not consider himself a candidate and be perfectly happy doing what he's doing because to go back into government means having to deal with the back-biting, in-fighting, money driven acidic erosion of principle there.

His worldwide visibility on this issue now means he may even be able to gear up even further into mass grass-roots organizing, actions that by-pass, override or challenge governments to act. Why be President of the US when he could be President of Earth--at least on this issue? He has the voice, the backing, the audience.

The only thing about the movie that I would have liked to hear more about is the connection between global warming and the resurgence of disease. He made the point about the opportunism of biological predators, but he then segued into a statement about the connection between GW and disease that wasn't clear.
