Probably. You're definitely the first to revel in it.

_____________

Am I the first to post that federal prosecutors have charged one soldier in the rape and murder of fifteen-year-old Abeer Qasim Hamza? As well as shooting to death her mother, father, five year old sister, and setting them on fire?

Not as bad as My Lai, but bad enough to galvanize public opinion and play into the paranoia projected by the Islamists.

And then, according to another member of the platoon, he knew about it but said nothing until two members of their platoon were kidnapped, tortured, and one was beheaded.

Another non-participant has confessed that he knew about the planning of the crime in advance, and saw the perpetrators dispose of bloody clothing, but said nothing.

And so it goes.

Why, Lindy? Why did the non-participants say nothing even though they knew about the plan in advance, and knew afterwards that it was carried out? Are they just "bad apples"?

Or does it (as I think) indicate dehumanization of the enemy?

Maybe we'll get lucky and the Iraqis will throw us out and take care of their own problems.
