BDAZZ - when my friend goesto China he puts in his Chinese SIM card in my gsm. You can buy these in the airport before and after luggage or in any street kiosks or any subway station.

His US cdma handest is useless. And even if it wasn't he would use it becuase with the gsm SIM he calls at Chinese cheap rates and no roaming charges.

The SIM cards cost about $10 and no questions asked at all, no social security number,no credit card etc the same goes for almost any country in Europe. Takes less than a minute.

That means no roaming charges or high international rates.

Now what would you do, buy a simcard for a gsm and get avoid roaming rates or pay roaming charges to your service provider.

plain vanilla cdma cannot compete aginst that. Its over game set and match.

WCDMA is something different and the future of hangs on its ability to hold and enforce its patents on WCDMA.

Best,
