My brother got granite counter tops installed -- I was stunned when he told me how much they cost (about a Ford Focus wagon, give or take). I'd always figured I'd replace my crappy counter top with something similar that lasts about 30-40 years (like the old) but still costs only a couple or three hundred dollars (with my installation).
