You just get a 1/2" sheet of corian or wilsonart and glue on a couple strips under the front edge. Then run the router bit on the top, then the bottom and smooth it off with sandpaper. You end up with a 1 1/2" round bullnose. The rest of the top should be supported with 3/4" or better plywood.
It sure ain't rocket science. Hardest part is finding a raw sheet of Corian. Dupont likes to sell only to shops. Others will sell direct though, like Wilsonart etc.

When you saw corian you will soon realize it's basically plexiglass (acrylic with plasticizers) because of the smell.
