Given the high level of creativity in theater/movies, 'All that stuff' seems pretty lame as a replacement. I've seen lots of plays in which the cast and crew came up with many novel ways to get an idea across that were both clever and entertaining, and they didn't have big movie studio budgets behind them. 'All that stuff' is a joke.

Also the plausible explanation part. I would rather have a real reason rather than a made up 'plausible' one. Like anybody going to see this movie in whatever country doesn't have an idea what country it takes place in. And will be so offended by the phrase 'the American way' that they'll tell all their friends to avoid it. Right.
