Topcat, go back to the NAMBLA blog where you belong. Your libelous smear of our congress's most trusted military leader Jack Murtha is disgraceful. Murtha is trying to save troops' lives and keep our military from being further worn down and worn out in this hopeless quagmire in Iraq. Yes, the Joint Chiefs is a liar (for Bush-Cheney, who makie all their people lie for them). And as for Haditha, if you turn your back on that outrageous murder, you're just as evil as terrorist supporters.

Now here's a taste of the real Iraq for you, not the imgainary Iraq spun at us from Fox News and rightwing media.

The Government Center in the middle of this devastated town (Ramadi) resembles a fortress on the wild edge of some frontier: It's sandbagged, barricaded, full of men ready to shoot, surrounded by rubble and enemies eager to get inside.

The American Marines here live eight to a room, rarely shower for lack of running water and defecate in bags that are taken outside and burned. The threat of snipers is ever-present; daytime temperatures hover around 120 degrees. The food is tasteless; the windows boarded up. The place reeks of urine. The casualties are heavy, too.

So it goes in this epicenter of the Iraqi insurgency and the focus of a grinding struggle between American forces and the guerrillas.

* And one more thing, the "guerillas" we're fighting against are not Al Qaida, they are Iraqis who wants us out of their country, just like the Iraqi PM does and the man Bush has made the most powerful man in Iraq does, that being militant young Mullah Al Sadr. Thanks to Bush, he will probably inherit Iraq and may ally himself with Iran. That could make us miss the sdays of Saddam Hussein. Thanks a lot, GW. But we know Bush-Cheney are happy, Halliburton controls the oil.
