Just saw an "Inconvenient Truth" by al Gore---POWERFUL, POWERFUL MOVIE!!

Anyone who sees this movie and still has serious doubts about global warming is not able to process information very well.

And I will not even go into the differences between Gore and Bush sr or jr-grin..

This movie may give the dems the house. Because only the dems seem to take global warming seriously.

Gore showed how carbon dioxide levels and the earth's warmth correlated perfectly going back a 1,000 years and that carbon dioxide levels have never been above 300 PPM going back 600,000 years and my son in law says the evidence is pretty compelling going back 25 million years.

And yes he addressed the little and big ice ages and warmth inbetween (vbg).

In the last 150 years (industrial age) co2 was ramping up and then in the last 30-/40 years it has gone hyperbolic way above 300 ppm and now close to 400 ppm. 10 of the last 14 years are the warmest on record.

He showed very clearly that in the next 50 years the arctic ocean will probably melt (which means it goes from reflecting the sun to absorbing the sun's rays (ice vs water)!!-among other things)and even now the Larson Ice Shelf is disintegrating and greenland melting could shut down the "gulf stream" which takes warm air to Europe.

So we have the correlation with co2 and the earth's warming temperature and a hyperbolic rise in co2. What he did not mention is methane has gone from pre industrial levels of 700/800ppb to 1800 ppb (skyrocketing) methane is 20 times as much a greenhouse gas as co2. But co2 is the big problem right now.

And 1 degree on the equator translates into 12 degrees in the arctic. For the youngsters on this thread my advice is you had better hold your politicians feet to the fire on this one.

Only two countries have not signed the kyoto treaty: the US and Australia (a US wannabe-lol)-I really love aussies though.

Anyone who does not take this movie seriously is just fooling themselves and doing an injustice to mankind generally and their children and grand children in particular!

And I know that is a bold statement!
