I have to keep reminding myself that this is suppose to be a value forum. I sure don't see any "value" in the picks by whoever Mr. X is.

What ever happened to value plays? Am I the only one still looking for them - sure haven't seen any posted hear lately.

For those of you who have forgotten or never knew; Here is one example of what a value pick might look like:

Market Cap $90 million
Tangible BV $165 million
Total CA 125 million with 25 million in cash/ST investments

Total C. Liabilities $25 million

Executive salaries are modest. Sales stable but not growing.
Old line business, been around forever and a day.
Positive (but small) cash flow.

I believe the Boston area real estate is substantially undervalued on the balance sheet as much of it has been around forever and would have been written off over the years.

The real thing I don't like is that management controls the voting stock so the common shareholders can never really control the company. Of course, the same could be said for most any Fortune 500 type of company as the good ole boys network controls the corporate Boards.

It is thinly traded so it takes time to get a position, but I've been buying SCX over the past month around the $14 area so take a look and see if it meets more of what I believe a value stock should look like. If not, please show me others that look better from a traditional value viewpoint.
