Not if they were moved there during all the saber rattling and UN blathering prior to our invasion.

Is that an excuse or what? Why is it so tough for Bush and his supporters to admit that they were wrong in putting American lives at risk by ordering in US troops into Iraq without the proper study and preparation. After all, how would Bush know how to lead the war preparation efforts. He has not done anything serious in his life. Not only did he fail to verify and validate the intelligence on Iraq that he received, but also he failed to ensure that the troops were fully equipped by way of body armor and armored vehicles. And to cap it all, he continues to shun the guiding principle of every past US President "The buck stops here." Could that be the reason why he is not cared for much by the world community and its leaders?

....since they have been raised to hate the infidel that is us.

Wrong again. The Iraqi insurgents, not the Al-Qaeda members in Iraq, at first welcomed the US military initially when Saddam was overthrown. But subsequently, when Bush ordered his troops to stay on in Iraq indefinitely and refusing to provide the Iraqi elected officials with a firm date on when they would be in a position to rule the country independently of US influence, the insurgent movement was born and continue to gain momentum with every additional day of US occupation.

Insurgents in Iraq were not raised to hate the US. On the contrary, they were the recipient of US aid funds, US high tech education etc. during the 70's and 80's when the US and Saddam had excellent relations.

So sdgla, I suggest that you challenge the Goebellian propaganda of Bush and force yourself to think independently as a proud American does. It is not about liberals and conservatives. It is about America and American pride and the love of the US.
