>Almost all PHD climatologists gave Gore 5 stars for the movie and my son in law, whom I sat next too, said he was surprised at how accurate the movie was!<

koan,
I'm on neither side of this debate as I continue to read and try to form an intelligent opinion. But I would like to point out how the mainstream media creates statements like the one above that do nothing to help discussion.
The Associated Press put out an article that says that "The nation's top climate scientists" are giving Gore's movie "five stars for accuracy."
If you read down it seems that according to the AP, in order to be considered a "top climate scientist," you have to have seen the movie and responded to questions from the AP. The article states that 19 scientist met this criteria and declared the movie accurate. But the AP also says that it contacted 100 scientists, but the 19 that had seen the movie and answered the AP's questions were deemed the top scientists.
One might reasonably assume that those who vehemently disagree with Gore's theories of global warming wouldn't waste their time going to see a movie made by the former vice president, who has no credentials as a scientist.
Again, I'm not ready to declare I know the answers to this situation but I am ready to declare that no one is likely to read much of a useful nature on the subject that is generated by the Associated Press or most other mainstream journals who need to grind out a quick story on the subject while it's part of the public discussion.

Regards,
RL
