They say it failed after blastoff Who knows what they were trying to test. It could be that after the last result they were looking for, say a third stage ignition, they didn't need to watch the splashdown. The might have blown it up after that point. This would allow them to test what they needed, and not push the politics farther than they really wanted. It's all speculation on my part, but in general, if Fox news reported that it was dark at midnight I would be tempted to look out the window to be sure. TP
