<The large oil companies deny it and the right wing by and large either deny it or as mentioned have moved the argument to a "state of doubt" like DAK wants to take, so they do not have to do anything right now.>

Putting words in my mouth is rude.

If you look at what I'm saying you wouldn't have to resort to emotional outbursts... you'd see that my argument is that the 'scientific method' as currently used (being a very blunt instrument in these systems) is what is giving your 'right wing' their ammunition (state of doubt) to claim it's OK to put toxins into a non-linear system because the effects are hard to define. If you can't admit you don't know something, people stop listening when you're panic attacks don't pan out as planned (right away). Instead a rational person or scientist (and many I'm sure did exactly this and didn't get any air time) could have been saying all along simply that we don't know the exact ramifications of putting toxins into our environment, but at high enough levels many problems (seen and unseen) WILL occur. For decades we've seen and put bandaids on this issue... lake Erie, Love Canal, Black Tuesday in Pittsburgh, Mercury in fish, dead animals, entire dead lakes and rivers! "Oh, we don't really need that river... we have fish from the ocean".... "look science has proven that the fish from the ocean will feed us for ever." "Science can prove that this one dead river can't possibly CAUSE any real EFFECTS to humanity... there is plenty of good water!"

<The warming situation demands action right now..>

Putting toxins into our eco-system demanded action the second it started. Get it?
