Obviously, you and I view many of the same events differently. I respect your right to have and express your opinions. I do not see the Bush Administration as the great usurper of power. I see our president as a leader who both understands and exercises the powers granted by the constitution. Further, I see a number of people who frequently and noisily do everything they can to undermine and discredit our elected leader.

I believe that we are at war for the survival of our culture. This peril is every bit as great as was the peril we faced during the World Wars and from different continental powers in the 18th and 19th century. The steps our government are taking to fight this unconventional war are certainly far less onerous than those Lincoln took when he felt the preservation of the union as in jeopardy. Or, those FDR took to insure our survival during WW II.

It is true we have spent too much money and often without the proper controls. The fraudulent charges by our fellow citizens in the Katrina aftermath is an excellent example of how government help can go astray.

If you are one of the ones who happen to believe that Halliburton is the beneficiary of the largess of the Government, take a look at their annual statements and compare them to those of similar sized companies. If they are "bilking" the american people it sure looks like they are not doing a very good job of doing so.

There are no doubts there are other examples we could list, however your point about accountability is a good one. my view is that President Bush and his staff do hold themselves accountable. You do not see them trying to pass responsibility for things gone wrong to anyone else. They may make mistakes but when they recognize their mistakes I see them adapting to the new situation and always keeping their eye on the desired end result.

Yes, impeachment is an option provided for in the Constitution. We also have elections every 2 years and if the country is headed in the wrong direction the citizens have the right and responsibility to elect new leaders that will correct those wrongs. That is certainly an easier and more accessible option for you.
