I discovered I have a hot button: the word treason being thrown around casually. Again it strikes me as an inability to differentiate between it and honest dissent, but when people here are accused of being treasonous it really bothers me.

I suspect, with some reason, that it is not so much an inability as it is a deliberate and calculated strategy, one which has succeeded in giving the word 'liberal' negative connotations and in labeling the Left as "enemies of the state", rather than as the patriotic reformers that the vast majority are.

I fear most of all, that this strategy will lead to its ultimate conclusion of violence against The Other, all of whom are our fellow countrymen. Its not like there is no precedent in this and other countries.
