Intersting response, steve. Obviously there is nothing wrong with praying for relief in a difficult situation or a situation clearly beyond our control (most are actually), but if God doesn't send the particular form of relief we are asking for -- greg is right that we shouldn't begin questioning our faith unnecessarily or looking for unforgiven sin in our lives. It may be that God just elects not to remove the irritant or stressor -- like Paul's thorn in the flesh. He loves us and cares for us no matter what He allows to come into our life, of course -- just as God the Father was loving Jesus all the way through the cross. What is the perfect balance anyway?
