Alan Smithee, I think it was in the 80s when the car business got so bad, but I still lived in Texas then 75 miles from Houston, and on the freeways there were many cars with Michigan plates, and some had bumper stickers that said "Last one to leave Michigan, turn out the lights".

Come to think of it, that could have been around 75.
