Wal-Mart

Since I wasted my first seven years out of college with consumer companies, [P&G to start] I am always interested in retail. The Ala Moana WalMart is just five minutes by MoPed from Waikiki, so I stop in there a couple of times a week. They have a Sams on the second floor, so the grocery section is limited, no meat or veggies.

The biggest price differential I have noticed from the chain Groceries-Safeway in my case-is in the non-food section. Any kind of spray cleaners seem to be half of Safeway. Very low private label prices. I pick up any housewares I need for what seems like half of other stores. Underwear, socks, and Aloha shirts are very cheap.

I buy very little. My total grocery and non-foods from Costco, Safeway and WalMart seldom tops $300 a month.
