My youngest brother just set up a gmail account and, for the moment, is a believer. He travels a great deal and found the Time Warner e-mail account terribly limiting. Couldn't seem to find a web version. He found out about it from his daughter and her friends. If I were to use gmail, it would have to be on the basis of using my present accounts there. I'm not going to switch out of them. Let me know how it goes.
