Mostly,I save energy and money by not shopping I've been trying that for a while. Nothing but necessities for me -- food, medicine, stuff for the vegetable garden because that gives back more than you put in, gas for the car but only for necessities and limit trips to when I can do several things in one trip. OK, occasionally my definition of "necessity" is somewhat, how shall we say, ideosyncratic. Trips to the library, visiting my mother, taking the kids for ice cream, a concert. I can't get the rest of the family to do it, nor can I get them to stop eating at restaurants, but I'm working on it.
