Isn't it so that patents expire in 16 years? If that is true, doesn't it mean that by 2008 ALL the patents Qualcomm had in 1992, will be expired?! Looking from Nokia's point of view, things may have changed a lot?! 17 years from date of issue for patents in early 90's. 20 years from date of filing for late 90's patents. And I believe the soft handoff patents was issued in Nov 93. (the power control patent in Oct 91). Clark
