voop I don't see the 4G decision as such a momentous event at this point in time, it will be in a year or so. 3G has not even gotten off the ground here so an announcement of 4G to me is, OK so what. Lets see aggressive demand from consumers for 3G. Lets see carriers drop their pricing for 3G so that the masses can afford it. Lets see some major advertising promotions. Lets see some consumer awareness. The majority of people don't even know what 3G is. So what will 4G mean to the masses? Lets see the phone manufactures get their heads out of their asses and make phones that live up to all their convergence talk. Why would MOT make such a great smart phone like the Q and equip it with a crappy 1.2 mega pixel camera? With a 3 mega pixel camera it would be THE killer phone. The Treo 650 has a crappy speaker phone and a crappy camera, not sure the 700 is any better. My point being is that getting phones to the must have point with the technology at hand or even HSDPA /DORA is much more important than what 4G will be.
Give me a MOT Q phone with 3 meaga pixels, lots of internal memory, great speakers, quality displays similar to those on cameras and easy to access and use applications for an afordable price and I'll show you a major guaranteed winner. No matter what the technology behind it is. We'll get there but we're not there yet and I don't understand why it's taking so long.

For now in my mind we need to beat BRCM, most importantly. Beating BRCM takes some of the wind out of the POS6 sails, a loss will only embolden them more, especially NOK.

Besides I would be shocked if Sprint doesn't go with OFDM for 4G.
