The Fed's games are pretty irrelevant in the scheme of things. When Americans start saving and stop borrowing, the shit hits the fan. Securities lending won't pay Joe Sixpack's credit card payment, car payment, boat payment, ARM mortgage payment, child support payment, fuel bills, and on and on.
