That's a fine explanation, but peripheral. The stem cell argument was not the point.

The point of contention is why pro-lifers tolerate fertility practices in that they intentionally kill embryos and the hypocrisy of doing so while concurrently making an issue of it re stem cells. Do you have an explanation for that apparent hypocrisy? As it stands, it's not OK to destroy embryos in the hopes of curing Parkinsons but it's OK to destroy them in the hopes of producing a baby. The logic of that eludes me. If an embryo is a person, then it's a person when it comes to stem cells, then it's a person when it comes to fertilization.
