More vignettes from someone perhaps a taste younger: The barrage balloons tethered around Boeing in Seattle. Standing near the end of an around-the-block line waiting to see Pinochio(?) at the Liberty Theater in Seattle. Two swabbies excitedly asked my dad if maybe we were queued to buy nylons. A tiny rural Seattle grocery was swamped after they advertised marshmallows.
