On reposting the same material repeatedly.

I think there is an issue of frequency.

Whether or not DELL picks up one or more AMD lines by back to school or Christmas is worth of repeated reference.

Take Sarmads' most recent 50 posts. There was a common theme in his posts and it evolved over time. Had it been spread out over a week, it would not have been as tiresome. Compressed into about 36 hours with separate replies to everyone who replied to him is, IMO, where it was destructive to the forum.

Moderators don't have the tools to limit the number of times someone posts. But that doesn't mean a "speed limit" can't be part of the rules.

Here is a table of the number of posts per day by poster during June 1 through June 6:

A speed limit of 20 posts/day would affect how many in this list? 2 people: one (4 out of 6 days), one (1 of 6 days).

15 posts/day: 5 people: one 5 of 6 days, one 2 of 6 days, three 1 of 6 days.

Put a speed limit in the forum rules somewhere between 10 and 25. I think 15 is a good number. If you can't add all you need to say in a forum in 15 posts per day, you just are not trying.

Someone exceeds the speed limit repeatedly, give them a warning. If they continue, give them a vacation.

I might also suggest some limit on the percentage of posts, say under 20%. It may be a free forum, but we should avoid a "tragedy of the commons".

Post these limits in the rules. They at least have the advantage of being objective unlike proposals regarding repeated content. Violators should be warned, repeated violators shall be given a suspension to go cold turkey.

My opinion.
