We do have a border with Egypt ... that's a close call for a big world. I never trade the local market, thou, so when I say "here" I mean the US (while sitting at home sweet home, Tel-Aviv). I realize that's weird but it does make financial sense (to me anyway). I hope my English is not too crooked.

The gold thing, it's really not that simple. I used to think that foreign central banks diversification out the US bond would probably cause both a steep rise in interest rates and gains for bullion. But after the mid May experience I am not sure this is still relevant. It felt a lot like gold and emerging markets have been reduced to mere beta. We always think if a hedge fund goes belly up that would be good for gold. What if the hedge fund is long gold?
