William R. (One-Share) Sweeney: "One-Share" was a Toronto investor in the '20s and '30s who became famous for asking directors uncomfortable questions at shareholder meetings. He was also willing to accept compensation from firms in lieu of bringing up sensitive information. The former cab driver ended his investment days driving a Rolls-Royce and owning the Concourse Building on Adelaide Street in Toronto. Appearing in court on one occasion, he said, "I hold five shares in that company, which is four more than I make a habit of holding."
