It strikes me how quick everyone in here is to predict the demise of Microsoft and ignore the other half of the Wintel combination. In my opinion, Intel is more likely to be the first to fail.

Some is inherently more flexible and "portable" than any hardware solution. Microsoft sells software. Intel sells hardware.

A prime example of this was the Pentium math bug. How many Millions did that cost Intel. If it was MS they would have just released a patch... all in all MS is in a much safer place right now than Intel.
