The WH motives for an Executive power grab are easily observable and documented. I'm sorry, I must have missed that which is "easily observable and documented." I agree that the power grab is easily observable and documented, but Krugman's alleged motive? It seems to me to be reasonable to claim, at most, cavalier disregard for balance of power in pursuit of other objectives. If you have an argument to support asserting that its destruction is their target rather than collateral damage, I'd like to hear it because it isn't "easily observable" by me. The alleged motive that the NYT hopes we lose the WOT is questionable at best. I agree that that is over the top. Both claims of motive are over the top, IMO. Which is why I made the point I did about goose and gander.
