The evidence of global warming is hard to refute but the connection to human activity or directly to co2 is seriously in doubt. The little ice age and other historic periods of warming and cooling are hard to pin on human activity and cannot be easily dismissed. The relationship to water vapor (the most important and "impactful" green house gas) and sun activity is rarely considered or addressed by the warming crowd, simply ignored. Never do they discuss the impact of co2 as a logarithmic function nor do they mention the earths historical average levels are 10X larger than today and in fact the earth has experienced ice ages when the co2 levels were as high as 8000 ppm which flies in the face of co2 being the root cause of warming.

Economically the draconian steps required to limit our output of co2 would include nuclear power to replace coal and we'd have to convince not only our government but that of the next two largest producers of co2 china and india whose appetites for oil is going to dwarf our own in less than a generation.

Worse we have a bunch of pinheads running around now blaming everything on global warming, a flood here a fire there is all anecdotal evidence of global warming. I suppose the latest headline about forest fires can't be the result of the last two decades of forestry policy regarding the clearing of under brush.
