Please post references. are we expressing a view from the center when the thread is supporting nytimes releases while congress supports and recent survey support condemning them for publishing details on swift program If the GOP-dominated Congress actually believes this, why have they not launched a formal inquiry? I have no doubt that a democracy must have a free press, although I realize that at times we will disagree as to what is appropriate for publication. Please recall that the NYT was quite supportive of the Iraq invasion and that they delayed the publication of the NSA program for over a year, well past the 2004 elections. If they really wanted to hurt GWB, they could, at least until Congress shut them down.
