Kerry was at a general meeting and asked some questions. So what? So did the entire press corps and many good patriotic citizens trying to end that horrific war. And Kerry is as patriotic as a US citizen gets. His entire life has been public service. Plus, didn't Jesus christ say "blessed are the peace-makers"? Absolutely.

Keep in mind, 100 American soldiers per week were still dying then plus hundreds of POW's continued being held while Nixon dragged his feet mainly for domestic political reasons. Nixon knew that war had to end years before (and promised to end it) but didn't want to appear "weak" so he invented this plan to "end the war with dignity" and while he dragged out the Peace talks, he dropped enormous quantities of bombs on Vietnam while our guys kept dying. That was his leverage. Just imagine the carnage, after we had all already recognized the war was a huge mistake, completely unwinnable and not in the US's interests. Sure Kerry asked questions, as we all should have much-much earlier, back in 1964 when LBJ first lied to get us into that quagmire. And as Bush got us into a similar quagmire in 2003. We should keep asking questions and never trust the war-for-profit crowd. They have proven themselves liars who damage our country greatly.
