You missed a fascinating month of the world's greatest game, from the sublime to the fantastic to the ridiculous. I don't watch soccer much but this was a beautiful experience, warts and all. There is an SI thread on the World Cup with lots of predictable bitching about referees and pleas for bigger goals and more scoring. They don't get it.
