Brumar, you are being dishonest. Of course Rove is a mastermind of dirty tricks, smears and election fraud. Just read his life story. Or watch the film "Bush's Brain". Rove has no problem breaking the law but like any master criminal also buffers himself. You denying this is laugyhable. clearly you are just trying to cover up for this corrupt administration.

Just like Rove planted the listening device in his own office, then called a press conference and blamed his opponents. Especially since the story Rather was telling was absolutely TRUE, and it is a story Rove desperately did not want people to hear. Remember 8 months of Bush's Guard records are missing. Someone purged that file. And Bush definitely got out of the Guard 2 years early because of his last name. Why else would they let him out to go to Harvard?
Also, the evidence Bushies stole both elections is solid. And none of the counter-claims have merit. If you dared to look at the evidence you'd see Bushies in Florida 2000 used a dozen different methods to cheat Gore, all of which cost Gore more than 537 votes, especially the deliberately scrubbing of 57,700 mainly legal black voters.
And in Ohio 2004, you would have to admit, at the very least, that Bushies stole enough votes to make it a toss-up, and that without any help from fixed Diebold machines or ballot stuffing. But ballot stuffing and Diebold corruption was very likely. However, since the GOP congress refuses and GOP justice department refuse to investigate, we have not gotten to the bottom of this can of worms.
You're right, Gore did use Willie Horton, but not the way Atwater did (with Rove looking on as his gleeful apprentice). Like with the smearvets in 2004, Atwater had a surrgoate group formed which GHW Bush could claim he had nothing to do with (a lie) then they ran the disgusting ads which blamed Dukakis for murder and rape. The fact that it worked surely encouraged Rove to take his smear campaigns even furher in the future.
