After watching the politics in this country, specifically over the last 25 years, I've come to the conclusion that we are desperate for a third party. In too many instances the gridlock caused from 2 parties appears to be the desired outcome. Do nothing and blame the other party is the new mantra. A third party would force issues and something would actually get accomplished.

Unfortunately, the political regs make it hard for an additional party to get up on its feet, as we've seen. If someone were to appear on the political scene with some novel and credible ideas and the ability to express them coherently to the masses...a credible third party could be created. Voters are looking for an alternative to what we have now. Talk about "getting out the vote"...if something new came along with a legitimate platform that they could get excited over, I believe the turnout would be huge. It would also be a wake-up call to the current cast of special interest party hacks. They might have to actually function once elected....
