I cannot foresee a situation in which we would launch a first nuclear strike. If we did launch against NK, China, SK and many other countries would fall under the fallout plume. It would be a sad day for nonproliferation.

It would not be such a sure thing that we would commit that kind of resources to SK after the way they have been behaving. We might wait and see what SK did. After a few days NK might have shot off a significant portion of their artillery, and then we could show up in numbers to help.

Apparently we have done a passable job of isolating them. We should continue to go with what works. NK is playing the fear card. Allies are probably more concerned about Kim's Saber rattling than the Administration is. President Bush knows what is causing it.
