I visited the War Remnants Museum in Saigon/HCMC this year, as well as the military museums in (surprisingly capitalistic) Hanoi. Along with plenty of weapons, and the predictable propaganda, there are other attempts to document the era historically with photographs. I saw the picture of Kerry, NO reference is made that he in any way contributed to the Viet Cong victory. The whole spin is how the Viet Cong stood up to invaders, from their point of view they would never admit they could have been defeated.

We really never lost a battle in Viet Nam, our attacks were ferocious and deadly whether within or across borders. But we lost the war.
