Mqaurice says we're all descended from an unbroken chain of people who lived long enough to reproduce. Maybe that's the explanation. It doesn't really matter how crazy you are if you live long enough to reproduce.

You reminded me of a discussion I got into a few months ago on evolution regarding why women live longer than men. It seems that it helps if the women in your ancestry lived long enough for their kids to reproduce.

And occasionally eat unwashed fruit.

I may be more adventurous than you. I've tried all sorts of things that had some risk at least once not for thrill seeking but to log another experience. I collect experiences. But I wouldn't bungee jump mostly because I don't like the feeling of falling. I won't even jump off a high diving board. Tried it once as a child. Tried it again many years later hoping to be over it. That's enough. Won't try it again. Hang gliding, yes. Bungee or parachute jumping, no.
