Boston tunnel collapse kills woman BOSTON, July 11 (UPI) -- A woman was killed when a massive slab of concrete from an Interstate connector tunnel fell on the car she was riding in near Boston. The 10-by-30 foot slab fell onto a Honda sedan around 11 p.m. Monday in the tunnel that runs between the eastbound Massachusetts Turnpike and South Boston. The unidentified male driver of the car was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with minor injuries but the woman in the passenger seat was declared dead at the scene, the Boston Herald reported. Massachusetts State Police said the tunnel would be closed Tuesday to give engineers time to study the extent of the damage to the ceiling and to the roadway, the Boston Globe said. In April 2005, one day after federal officials declared the tunnels safe, rocks and debris fell from an overhead vent in the I-93 southbound tunnel in downtown Boston and damaged at least five vehicles, the Globe said. - - - - - - - - - - - - Rumor is Teddy has been looking for a new place to take his dates...
