India is a great place to get things built in, but you are right, a poor bet to catch China. I still prefer Indian goods 100% over Chinese. I can't tell you how many times I have found things fall apart and upon inspection I find the reason written on a tag saying "Made in China.". By contrast the few things I have that are made in India have definitely superior quality.
