Gingrich had an op-ed piece not long ago (last couple of years) about the evil State Department bureaucrats impeding Bush's glorious foreign policy that sounded like vintage 1994 Gingrich. Slash and burn stuff. Even if he is kinder and gentler now, I wouldn't trust him to have a kinder view of human nature if my life depended on it. The whole previous career can't just be written off as a fit of pique. What is his electable message now?
