"and possibly millions of Japanese with their mid-range missiles."

There is no evidence that they have a decent enough guidance system to hit anything except by pure luck. Just being able to hit the islands isn't enough, they need to be able to hit population centers. And they probably can't. Except by accident.

"They have a million man army and a million artillery pieces."

That they do. And trained in the Soviet style. Which means they are only effective in mass attacks. Which, oddly enough, we and the SK are pretty effective against. SK would establish air control almost immediately. In modern parlance, that means only squad sized units can operate. Which means that NK forces are neutralized.

"They would also kill or capture most of the 30,000 Americans stationed there. "

Unlikely. Unless our military leaders are utter morons, our troops aren't positioned where they can be overwhelmed in a matter of days. I base my information on a Marine who was stationed in SK for two years, terminating in 1999.

"They might be able to take the entire Korean peninsula before we could stop them."

Total nonsense. They came close to that the first time. Whatever negatives you might claim against our military, they don't make the same mistakes twice.

Again, Seoul might be toast. But that isn't the totality of SK.
